A Journey of Growth and Evolution

 I have grown and evolved over time. As a generator should, I have allowed the flux of the tide to become my loom, weaving a new visage for my craft with each tide's whisper. My practice is rooted in wisdom that is deeply intertwined with the Earth itself.

Our wisdom is not merely something we learn; it is something we uncover. It sits deep within us. As we learn to listen, we discover what our roots already know.

Butterfly Teachings: Lessons from Nature

When I was 11, my world was shifting in ways I didn't yet understand. I was told I would learn from the butterfly. I did not know what that meant then, but I see what it means now.

What have I learned thus far from the butterfly? Life is not a linear path. We often return to the cocoon stage with every evolution we encounter. Each time we face hardships or feel called to grow, we must retreat not in defeat, but in necessary transformation. The cocoon is dark. It can feel like dissolution. But it's where the healing and reflection happen. We review what is working, what is not, and look within to understand our lessons and how we can integrate them for the next phase of our lives.

I have been within this cocoon many times, healing my body, returning to school, rebuilding my practice from new ground. And I'm always relearning to trust the process.

The butterfly also teaches us about resilience, but a different kind than we're often taught. While the buffalo demonstrates one form of resilience by heading into the storm to face it head-on and shorten suffering, the butterfly shows us another way. When storms approach, the butterfly doesn't always fly through them. Sometimes she changes course, flies around, waits them out. She flies in seemingly random patterns to escape predators who expect straight lines.

This is wisdom too: Not all storms are ours to encounter. Not all battles are ours to fight. Not all suffering is necessary for growth. Sometimes the bravest thing is to recognize which storms will destroy us and which will transform us, and to know the difference.

The butterfly's wisdom isn't just about transformation; it's about honoring our own timing, choosing our battles wisely, and trusting that even when we're in the dark cocoon, wings are forming.
